There are times when I come across an issue or topic that deserves more than a tweet but not quite a full article. My musings on neonatal innovation and other topics as my mind takes flight and wonders out loud.
Let's tip the scale
This month I attended a design thinking workshop Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Health Innovation organized by EIT Health Campus Program. EIT through public-private partnerships aims to enhance the participation of women in innovation and entrepreneurship activities by providing capacity building tailored to women’s needs and by inspiring and supporting them to advance in their professional careers. It was inspiring, but also gave me some aha moments. Women are caregivers AND brilliant so naturally they dominate the healthcare system; they make up approximately 70% of the medical and health service workforce, yet only 4% of healthcare companies have women CEOs. If we look at entrepreneurs only 3 in 10 are women.
